On the 18th of March 2020 - I flew back to Finland, fleeing London on the day they announced it was going into lockdown the following week. My parents had called me the day before, telling me to book the next flight possible to Finland to stay with them, as they feared what the Covid epidemic in the UK as a noncitizen would look like. So I escaped to my sanctuary, which had served as my shelter from the world since I was a kid. As I thought I would stay in the countryside longest for a month, I only brought my analogue cameras. While writing my dissertation, I documented my stay with my iPhone - cataloguing snippets of the countryside bubble I was privileged to live in.
